Ilia Abramov is GM of the Security Business Unit at Mavenir. Under his leadership, Mavenir has developed and successfully deployed new generations of products leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning principles significantly increasing efficiency of fraud detection, network protection, and revenue recovery.
Ilia began his career in telecom at Acision (former LogicaCMG) as a consultant in 2000 within Research and Development taking multiple roles, from developer, architect, lead engineer to product management. He developed the security product proposition at Acision in 2010.
These products — as a result of acquisitions — have evolved into the current Mavenir Security BU offering. And they significantly extend into the Machine Learning area, plus 4G and 5G networks, covering all domains within telecom core network security and fraud.
Before joining the telecom industry, Ilia was focusing on business process automation for governmental and financial sectors as a consultant at an IT firm. Ilia also holds an Honors Diploma from Moscow State University in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Bojan Andelkovic is Senior Product Manager at iconectiv. With over 6 years of experience working in the Telco sector, he specializes in anti-fraud and revenue assurance solutions and has worked with a number of service providers, SMS aggregators and enterprise businesses worldwide.
Bojan is an active member of GSMA and MEF organizations and his goal is to further integrate iconectiv in the growing Anti-Fraud and Revenue Assurance market. He also seeks to help service providers regain control over their networks and increase monetization efforts, particularly through SMS traffic and preventing SIM Box fraud.
Roger Ansin is chairman of the Callista Group, the privately held call accounting software firm he co-founded in 1988. Callista is the developer of Control Phreak active voice security system designed to protect the enterprise PBX. The firm also develops call management and hospitality management systems out of offices in three countriesl, including a global 24-hour installation and support service.
Arnd Baranowski founded Oculeus in 2004 and has been the sole managing director ever since. With his background in aerospace technology, Arnd brings over 20 years of experience in software engineering and development of innovative solutions.
Under the premise that every problem has a solution, Arnd and his team continue to develop effective system solutions for managing telecommunications and quickly responding to the ever-changing needs of the global market.
Robert Benlolo is Senior Product Manager, Product and Business Strategy at Tata Communications. He oversees the company's full spectrum of sourcing activities and relationships with more than 200 VAS suppliers for Tata Communications International Toll-Free and Local Number Services. Robert is also the lead architect of the company’s anti-fraud strategy, where he maintains
constant focus on enhancing internal and external FMS systems as well as fine-tuning processes in an effort to protect customers’ voice traffic.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from McGill University.
Jim Bolzenius works for WeDo Technologies as their Senior Director for Business Development. He has established a reputation as an expert in the field of fraud management, having previously worked as Executive Director Fraud Prevention & Strategy for Verizon Wireless and the Head of Anti-Fraud Services at Transaction Network Services. Jim has also worked for RoamEx Inc and GTE Mobile.
Jim has a degree in Finance from the Ohio State University and an MBA from Angelo State University.
John Brooks is Vice President, Americas Business Solution Consulting at Subex.
Currently assigned by the new CEO to help rebuild the Americas division. This follows on a highly successful 6 years of rebuilding Product and Strategy on a global basis, and launching the Business Solution Consulting practice and Advanced Analytics practices in the prior 6 years.
These initiatives helped catapult the organization to near $100M in revenues and almost 100 new enterprise customers.
John is formerly the Vice President, Product Management, at Subex where he was responsible for a leading product team that represents over 15 major product platforms and solution domains from fraud management and revenue assurance... to analytics and network lifecycle management.
Marie Casey is a Senior Product Manager at Mavenir. She began her career in Telecoms at Vodafone Ireland, working to develop new fraud detection techniques using Big Data Machine Learning concepts.
Following this, Marie began working with Argyle Data (since acquired by Mavenir in 2018) into further developing their fraud detection technologies and Use Cases across MNO's, MVNO's and Wholesalers.
Marie also holds a B.Sc. in Computers Systems and M.Eng. in Information and Network Security from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
With over 23 years of experience Ashwin brings a rich blend of diverse strengths and experience, encompassing Software product development (conceptualization to implementation), business development, technical sales, consulting & managed services.
In his current role as Senior Vice President – Global Delivery, Customer Support & Managed Services, Ashwin heads a global team responsible for delivery & support of Mobileum core solutions and execution of managed services projects.
The interview in the Report was written prior to Ashwin's joining Mobileum. At the time, he was the CTO and Head of Service Delivery at Subex from 2007 to 2018 and during his 11-year’s association with the company he was on the forefront of several exciting and challenging assignments.
From 2012 to 2018, supported Subex’s transition from a promoter led to a professional led organization. In the same timeframe his role was expanded significantly to include product management, engineering, professional services and technical support functions and he was elevated to the position of CTO and head of services delivery.
Avnish is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Mobileum, a recognized provider of innovative solutions in Roaming, Security, and Counter-Fraud.
Avnish lives in Silicon Valley, and has been instrumental in defining, building, and launching many "firsts" in the industry. He studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
Jason is the Chief Information Security Officer for BT in the Americas. He runs the regional security practice, ensuring that BT consistently maintains high standards for its own security and is responsible for portfolio, partners, and operations.
Jason previously served as Chief Architect/CTO for BT Americas, and the organization he led included service design and transformation teams. He was responsible for delivering solutions for more than 7,000 of BT's global customers across the company's lines of business. His twenty-plus years with BT have given him technical and leadership experience in infrastructure, architecture, development, customer service and extensive experience working with customers and vendors.
Jim Dalton is the founder and CEO of TransNexus, Inc. Jim became involved in the telecom industry in 1988 when he began working at BellSouth. His work there included financial analysis and market planning for BellSouth’s GSM wireless and mobile data businesses. This experience led to his early recognition of the promise of Voice over IP and the founding of TransNexus in 1997.
Dalton holds seven U.S. patents for VoIP clearing and settlement technology. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Duke University and a MBA degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton school.
Jan Dingenouts is an independent consultant with an in-depth anti-fraud expertise. He has 27 years of experience in Telecom Sales and Business Development. His most recent 14 years were in International Voice and Carrier Relations.
Jan also has a successful track record coaching highly motivated teams to exceed their revenue, margin and cost targets. His consulting and negotiating skills leverage the excellent contacts he has with International Carriers across the Voice & Mobile Data Business. He also has experience working in multi-cultural organizations.
Jan operates out of his home in Monaco.
Matt Ehrlich, Product Management Director for Experian's Fraud and Identity Solutions team, works daily with clients and partners to support their anti-fraud efforts through Experian's fraud risk and identity verification products.
This includes aligning the product roadmaps with fraud prevention best practices and emerging technologies. He has responsibility for fraud prevention and authentication strategy in the financial services and Telecom/Energy/Cable sectors, among others.
An avid runner, Ehrlich appreciates the challenge presented in "keeping pace" with the latest fraud threats and anti-fraud tactics.
Peter Eisengrein is a founding partner and Executive Vice President of Network Engineering at Evolve IP, The Cloud Services Company™. With over 20 years experience in telecommunications and networking, with an expertise in Voice over IP (VoIP), he is responsible for the overall architecture, engineering, and operations of the hosted Unified Communications (UCaaS) network.
Prior to joining Evolve IP, Peter served as Director of Engineering for ATX Communications, Inc., where he was responsible for the planning, design, budgeting, development, and support for the ATX network. In this role, he oversaw the technical product development and design of the ATX network and designed and installed their Frame Relay, Internet, and Voice over IP (VoIP) platforms.
Outside of technology, Mr. Eisengrein is Founder and President of Artists of Morrisville, a non-profit arts organization. He also has served on the board of directors for the Morrisville School District and the board of directors for Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22, and is an active volunteer with the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County (YOBC).
Mr. Eisengrein holds a Bachelors degree from West Chester University and completed his graduate studies from Temple University. He has 3 fantastic kids, a beautiful wife, an indefatigable dog, and an ill-tempered cat.
Katia is Head of Fraud Prevention Operations and Services at BICS, a leading global wholesale carrier in the Telecom industry.
With more than 14 years of experience in the Mobile and Wholesale Telecom industry, Katia has held different positions in the Wholesale Carrier Business that allow her to understand the various aspects of the business as well as its challenges.
Katia also chairs the i3forum Fraud Group, which brings together the communications expertise of more than 40 telecommunication providers, representing a combined retail base of over 1.5 billion customers across 100+ countries.
Steve Heap has many years of experience in international companies ranging from small start-ups to major multinational corporations. His responsibilities have been across strategy, planning, engineering, and operations. As the CTO of Arbinet he came face to face with many fraud issues and tackled some of the more severe ones in partnership with IPsoft. Now as a Senior Technical Consultant with the company, he focuses on extending IPsoft's broad portfolio of autonomic analytic systems to the carrier environment.
Guy Howie, CEO of Biaas, is a Charted Accountant (CPA in the US) and Certified Information Systems Auditor. Having read Chemistry at University, Guy started his career in Finance working for various companies including Ernst & Young in London.
Guy subsequently began his Telecoms career in 1999 within the Cable Industry (was known as The Cable Guy!), and after several years saving big bucks leading teams in Revenue Assurance and Business Intelligence, Guy found an opportunity to set up Biaas in 2006.
Guy has a family, loves to travel, and will be off windsurfing whenever the wind is blowing hard.
After a few years within KPN mobile, Daan Kleijnen joined the iBasis product management team, located in the iBasis Headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Daan is now responsible for the management of the iBasis fraud system, from developing new product and features to worldwide launches and implementation. He's also tasked with turning key customer requirements into advanced capabilities and enhanced solutions and has been instrumental in developing iBasis' FraudAlert product.
An active participant in industry forum such as i3 forum and GSMA fraud groups, Daan holds a Bachelor and a Master's degree in Organizational Science from Tilburg University, The Netherlands.
Patrick Knight is the Senior Director of Cyber Strategy and Product Management at Veriato, an innovator in actionable user behavior analytics and a global leader in insider threat protection, where he helps organizations protect critical data from threats by trusted insiders.
For over 17 years, his cyber security career has helped enterprises protect against online threats through the development of anti-malware, network intrusion detection, computer and network forensics and encryption technologies.
He is a writer and speaker on topics of cyber security and privacy in multiple forums including NITSIG and Virus Bulletin. He is a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Intelligence Community and the United States Army in the fields of Signals Intelligence and Cryptanalysis and a Russian and Serbo-Croatian Linguist.

Jason Lane-Sellers, a well-known fraud-fighter, is a Director at ThreatMetrix, A LexisNexis Risk Solutions Company, that provides an end-to-end platform for digital identity intelligence and trust decisioning.
The interview in the Report was written in 2017 when Jason was a Product Offering Manager at Mobileum. This was before Mobileum acquired Evolved Intelligence in Oct 2018 which, inevitably, led to a degree of refocussing and realignment within the enlarged company. However, the interview still gives a clear picture of the core value proposition behind Mobileum's counter-fraud offering.
Jason has long been active in the CFCA, and he now serves as the organization's President. He has been employed at a variety of telecom operators and suppliers including T-Mobile, Hutchinson 3G, Amdocs, Lycatel, Azure Solutions, Neural Technologies and Vodafone.
Guillaume is GM, Enterprise Solutions at Mavenir where he leads the global rollout of Mavenir's mobile native UCaaS solutions.
Previously, Guillaume was responsible for Corporate Development and Global Marketing. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Director of Business Development and Global Product Marketing for Netscout (formerly Tektronix, a Danaher company) and with InfoVista where he held various roles including Presales Director for EMEA and NA, and Product Management and Product Marketing Director.
Florian Leeder is Head of Business Unit Roaming at SIGOS since September 2014, driving the complete Roaming and Interconnect area related product and service portfolio. Further he is responsible for the administration, operation and expansion of the GlobalRoamer test platform.
He covered different SIGOS leadership positions in Support, Product Management and Business Development since 2000. Prior he worked as an external consultant for Siemens and Colt Telecom.
Florian studied in Germany and Italy. He holds a University degree in Political Science from the University of Bamberg.
Xavier Lesage is president of Araxxe, a managed services firm that uses robotic test call systems to detect revenue assurance and fraud issues.
Prior to joining Araxxe in 2005, Xavier managed major revenue assurance and billing programs at Accenture for telecom clients such as Orange, Vodafone, Telecom Italia, AT&T and Liberty Global.
Ravindran Mahalingam is the Senior Vice President - International Business Division of HGC Global Communications and a key member in HGC Management Committee. He is leading the HGC International Business Division and where he is responsible for global business development and strategic planning, including both traditional and new digitalisation businesses.
Ravi has over 15 years of experience with HGC, starting from South East Asia Regions, then, invited to join HGC Head Quarters based in Hong Kong for 3 years.
Afterward, he was invited to assist HGC to expand the business in EMEA Region for 6 years located in London. He has successfully established HGC's first Regional office in London with business extending into various parts of Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
Presently, Ravi is moving back to Head Quarters to head up the International Business Division for the new HGC established in October, 2017. Prior to joining HGC in 2002, he oversaw the data and voice business in Teleglobe.
Rohit is responsible for delivering business growth using innovation and product strategy at Subex. He leverages his expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), analytics and digital services along with his experience in risk and fraud domains to build new offerings, drive business growth and deliver great customer experience.
Prior to this, Rohit was the Head of Subex’s Business and Solutions Consulting Group (BSCG) and has over 20 years of rich experience in delivering solutions and consulting to telecom operators across the world. He frequently represents Subex at industry forums.
Before joining Subex, Rohit worked with companies like Crompton Greaves and Kirloskar Electric Company. He is a graduate in electrical and electronics engineering from University of Mysore, India.
Danie Mariz is the managing director of Moonshot Pty (Ltd) and the co-founder and director of the Institute for Exponential Manufacturing.
He is an organisational psychologist, innovator and business entrepreneur. He completed his internship at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in 1992 and was CEO of Productivity Development from 1996 – 2004 and transformed this company into BEE enterprise as Group CEO from 2004 – 2010. Then he joined Deloitte as associate director in 2011.
Danie started-up and led the Next Generation Collaboration practice at Monitor Deloitte in South Africa. He facilitated over 300 high level executive strategy sessions for top tier organisations in this role. As a leadership, innovation design and strategy expert he brings a distinctive accelerated collaborative approach in solving, improving and transforming complex problems.
Danie engages directly with the C-level executives at large and complex organisations in all industries including the public sector to facilitate and design strategies that are easy to implement, measure and report on. Danie is dedicated working with futurists and industry leaders on social innovation projects for the good of the country and the African continent.
Danie received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Economics at the University of Stellenbosch. He earned his Doctorate in Communcaitions at the University of Johannesburg, where he specialized in Leadership & Organisational Transformation.
Joining WeDo Technologies in 2009, Carlos Marques previously held roles in marketing and sales for IT companies. Carlos is WeDo Technologies’ product marketing manager, the leader of the company product board — the “meeting point” for product & services strategy at WeDo Technologies. Carlos is also the person responsible for managing the product roadmap process in the company.
Michalis Mavis was the founder and first Chairman of the Hellenic Fraud Forum (HFF) that was established in the year 2000 (4 years before the Olympic Games in Greece) by the Hellenic Telecom Operators to fight telecom fraud.
Michalis studied Physics and got two Masters degrees in Telecommunications and Computer automation from the University of Athens.
He was head of the telecom fraud division of OTE (Hellenic Telco). He worked as a crypto engineer for NATO Communications and Information Systems Agency (in Brussels) and as Project Supervisor at EURESCOM (European Institute for Research and Strategic Studies in Telecom) in Heidelberg-Germany.
He also became chairman of the ETNO (European Telecom Operators) WG on Information Security. He cooperates with EUROJUST (in the Haag-NL) and the Hellenic Police on electronic crime prevention. He also provides training and consultancy on fraud & security topics for telecom companies in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Kenneth Mouton is head of the Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management business unit at SIGOS, operating out of Ghent/Belgium.
Previously he served as Head of Customer Service Delivery Interconnect & Fraud joining Meucci Solutions in 2007 and was also commercially responsible for the African and Middle-East Sales accounts. Earlier he worked at Fortis Bank and Belgacom International Carrier Services.
Kenneth holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Conflict & Development. He also received an Executive MBA graduating from Vlerick Business School.
Steffen Öftring serves as Revenue Assurance Manager since October 2014 and heads up the complete RA solution (product management, marketing, sales and service delivery). Previously he headed up the Professional Services Group for Telecommunications as senior consultant where he was responsible for all SITE and GlobalRoamer consultancy projects and managed services worldwide. Amongst them were various services for interconnect fraud (SIM Box Detection, international carrier quality) and active QoS/QoE monitoring (national & roaming) services.
Before Steffen joined SIGOS he worked as an external business consultant for the Robert-Bosch GmbH in the area of business modelling, corporate-wide time registration software and launching SAP R/3 since the year 2000. He holds a University degree in computer science and economics from the University of Bamberg.
Philippe Orsini is VP Product Management at Araxxe, a specialized company providing End-to-End Billing Verification and Interconnect Fraud Detection solutions to communication companies worldwide.
Philippe, who joined Araxxe in 2007, is in charge of product portfolio management and new product creation. He also manages key client accounts mainly in North Africa and Europe.
After graduating from a top French "Grandes Ecole" and the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (Spain) in telecommunication, Philippe has been developing strong insight and operational expertise in the communications industry across Europe.
Philippe has spent most of his work experience working at consulting companies, such as IBM Global Services or Accenture. He has been managing large IT systems implementation projects and in-depth consulting studies in the distribution and telecommunication industries.
Shankar is the Founder and CEO of Fraud Risk and Security Research Labs (FRS Labs). A Certified Fraud Examiner, Shankar's experience range from business planning and analysis to development and deployment of complex intelligence systems. Over the past 18 years his work has included enterprise architecture, new product development and fraud prevention for Telecoms, Financial Institutions and Governments.
Shankar obtained his Engineering from PSG College of Technology, India and an MBA from University of Leicester, UK. Shankar is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and ACFE Bangalore Chapter.
Nev is a founder and Chief Technical Director of Symmetry Solutions and the designer of the TRAP Tariff Assurance application.
He has worked with or consulted for companies such as Telefonica O2 UK, Tesco Mobile, Virgin Media, Vodafone Germany, France Telecom, Equant/Orange Business Services, Global One, Energis Ireland, Oi Brazil, Algeria Telecom, Sky UK, TalkTalk, Etisalat UAE and others.
Nev has significant experience of large, complex projects in the telecoms industry. He has worked in Telecoms for over 25 years for operators, vendors, consultancies and resellers.
He has gained significant knowledge in billing, charging, reference data, revenue assurance and operational assurance practices, and has deep technical skills in IT and solution design, as well as a substantial knowledge of network infrastructure and operations.
Nev is very hands-on and has helped operators detect, stop and recover hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue in his tenure in the telecoms industry. He maintains his thought leadership in the ongoing development of Revenue Assurance best practice. He has worked and contributed with the TM Forum, actively assisting in the development of the Maturity Model v2.
Don Reinhart is the Co-Founder and Chief Technical / Operating Officer of LATRO Services, Inc., providing technology leadership to the company's telecom managed services as well as software and hardware platform development.
Don has been involved with LATRO since its inception and has more than 20 years of experience working with leading telecom vendors and operators around the world.
Don has worked extensively on the design and implementation of network and fraud solutions within Asian, African, and Middle Eastern markets.
The specialty bypass fraud detection and control solutions provisioned by Don and his LATRO team routinely reverse losses and increase top line revenues of its clients.
In addition to telecom operators, he has worked with regulators to architect programs aimed at improving services within national markets.
Don holds a BS in Physics from Bucknell University and a MBA Finance degree from Johns Hopkins University. He was employed at Tektronix before joining the LATRO team.
Tony Sani is the Executive in charge of Group Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management at the MTN Group headquartered in South Africa.
Anthony was born and educated in South Africa, having completed his tertiary education with a degree in Accounting Science and is a Certified Systems Auditor. His professional career over 15 years includes extensive experience in the Telecommunications and Petrochemical industries.
After 5 years with Shell Gas (UK), Anthony's early telecom experience with MCI in London included the establishment of a Billing Integrity and Data Quality domain, as well as managing the implementation of a European-wide ERP solution.
In 2000, Anthony joined T-Mobile UK, where he spent 4 years developing and Heading the Revenue Assurance, Billing and Carrier Services organizations. Anthony joined Cable and Wireless in 2004, and implemented a Revenue Assurance Group organization and capability across the 33 operating entities globally.
Returning to South Africa in 2006, Anthony established an advisory business, including international clients such as Vodafone, Telefonica LATAM, Bell Canada, Zain and MTN.
During this period, Anthony led many OPCO and Group-wide financial improvement and capability development programs in Revenue Assurance, Fraud and Business Intelligence.
Anthony joined MTN Group in 2012 to lead, design and implement a turnaround strategy for its Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management since 2012. This program has been hugely successful in improving profitability through more effective Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management practices.
Ed Shanahan has more than 25 years of global experience in telecoms working with service providers, investors and technology firms. He most recently served as AVP, Carrier Operations for Sybase 365 where he was responsible for sales operations and service delivery for the company's global carrier business. Prior to Sybase 365, Ed was the Managing Partner of Excelerate Partners, a business process optimizations consultancy serving the banking and telecom. Ed is also a former Vice President and Principal at the TMNG, a consultancy where he launched, grew and managed the company's Revenue Assurance Practice.
James Stewart joined Syniverse in 2008 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the mobile industry, with a particular specialization in fraud prevention. In addition to being Director for Product Management at Syniverse, he serves as the Chairman of the GSMA's Roaming and Interconnect Fraud and Security Subgroup.
Before joining Syniverse, James was a Client Partner at Fair Isaac, in its telecoms division. It was during his tenure with Fair Isaac that he became directly involved in the creation of the near-real-time roaming data exchange (NRTRDE). Prior to his position at Fair Isaac, James worked at Neural Technologies and Cerebrus Solutions, and specialized in fraud and risk management.
Previously, he was with Nortel Networks, where he spent 10 years working in Nortel's e-business group to help operators overcome revenue assurance challenges. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electronics and electrical engineering from Brunel University in the U.K.
Anthony Stiso joined Telinta in 2013 as their Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He is a seasoned telecom professional with experience in marketing and sales, PR, strategic planning and partnerships, new product launches, channel development and more.
He currently heads Telinta's global marketing for cloud-based softswitch solutions for VoIP service providers around the world. This includes strategic partnerships with industry-leading IP Phone manufacturers, VoIP Termination carriers, DID providers and other partners.
Prior to joining Telinta, Stiso has helped telecom and IT firms such as AT&T, Telefonica, T-Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, Verizon, HP, SAP, Telmex and others to market new services in the US, Brazil and Europe. He holds a Bachelors degree from Rowan University and a Masters degree from the State University of New York.
Luke is a seasoned business executive with a deep knowledge of telecoms fraud management and business assurance from his 20 years in the industry working for a risk management software vendor.
He founded Lateral Alliances in 2017 to offer business management and consultancy services focused in the IT sector and specifically telecoms risk management.

John Wick serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Service Provider Group, and is responsible for the management and growth of Syniverse's next-generation networking solutions. He also leads product development across this line of business, which includes Syniverse's Connected LTE, IPX, IMS, SS7 and Turnkey product lines.
John joined Syniverse in 1993 and was initially responsible for managing the network operations department. Over his tenure, he has held management positions in the operations, research and development, technology, business development, and product management groups.
Prior to joining Syniverse, John was a systems integrator with Verizon and, earlier, an electronic communications and switching systems technician for the U.S. Air Force.
He earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds an associate's degree in electronic engineering technology from the Community College of the Air Force, and he is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

William "Lex" Wilkinson is the Chief Executive Officer of LATRO Services, Inc., a privately funded company based in Easton, PA. He was a pioneer in fighting fraud during the cellular market explosion of the early 1990's and was an original member/founder of the CTIA Fraud Task Force in 1991. As a security consultant to industry associations and wireless operators around the world, Lex has seen first-hand the many ways fraud can affect organizations and cost millions in lost revenue.
Later as an executive with Rural Cellular Corporation, he participated in the sale and integration of RCC to Verizon Wireless where he remained until 2010. Based on his years of experience in the industry and as a Tier 1 telecom executive, he created LATRO Services, a company that develops and implements next generation fraud analysis tools and managed services for wireless operators around the world.
Mr. Wilkinson is a U.S. Army Veteran, retired Police Detective and a graduate of DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Today, LATRO Services operates in over twenty-five markets on four continents.
Colin started his working life in Law Enforcement in New Zealand, then after 18 years moved to a Risk and Fraud Management role in Telecom New Zealand.
After 12 years there, he moved to Vodafone New Zealand and for the next 12 years had roles with Vodafone in New Zealand, Australia, Germany and the UK, leaving Vodafone in 2012 as Group Head of Fraud Management and Investigations, having had responsibilities for managing fraud and investigations right across the Vodafone footprint.
Colin has held Management positions in the GSMA Fraud Forum, CFCA, FIINA and Pacific Partners.
He is currently managing his own firm, Yates Fraud Consulting Limited which consults back to industry operators to review their Fraud and Revenue risk maturity. He also manages an IPR Test Number database currently in use by some of the world's largest operator groups.
Colin is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is also a Fraud Adviser to PITA (Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association).
Mark Yelland has been working in the revenue assurance and fraud space for over 20 years. For the last five, he has run a small consultancy firm, RAAIIM, targeting the smaller and newer operators, helping them get started or improve their revenue leakage and risk management. Showing them what can be achieved with minimal spend - getting more out of their existing systems, or developing tools using open-source products.
Like all engineers, he enjoys solving problems of all types, trying to find elegant, cost effective and simple solutions to big problems. His engineering training comes from the degree course at Cambridge University and his business skills come from the Open University MBA.
